Engaging ‘Harder to Reach’ Farmers: project with the Universities of Sheffield & Reading

Client: University of Sheffield (in collaboration with the University of Reading)

Date: January – July 2021

Summary: I worked as a Research Assistant for six months on the “Agri-Environmental Governance Post-Brexit” project led by Dr. Ruth Little at the University of Sheffield. The project aimed to identify ways of engaging with “harder to reach” farmers in the design and delivery of new post-Brexit agri-environmental schemes. I helped with the data collection, analysis and presentation stages of the research and especially enjoyed creating a range of visual outputs to communicate our findings to policymakers and other key stakeholders.

Outputs

  • Figures and graphics based on research findings (seen below)
  • Creative research summary, available to download here

“Working with Veronica took our research dissemination to the next level. Her engaging graphics and presentation communicated concepts to non-experts in a clear way. Veronica is friendly, easy to work with, and I would have no hesitation in working with her again!”

Dr David Christian Rose (Elizabeth Creak Associate Professor of Agricultural Innovation and Extension, University of Reading)
